Photo Session: Houston 47th Wedding Anniversary

What a time we had in Nevada last April! As a portrait artist, I look to capture my family as well as the families of others. My parents were in dire need of new portraits, so I convinced to go all out and schedule an on-location photo session...in the Valley of Fire state park in Overton, NV.

Naturally, my mother was concerned about the wardrobe. No problem! As a portrait artist, I cover all the details for my photo sessions. I worked with my parents to get their outfits shipped to the hotel in Henderson, NV. My mother's dress was rented from Rent The Runway, and we had my father's tux expressed shipped from National Tuxedo Rental. All the baubles were purchased from Sam Moon, which my mother loved! The only thing left was getting to our destination.

First things first, a permit is required to operate in the Valley of Fire state park. As a client, it's not something my parents were concerned with. As the artist I knew without this permit and proof of insurance, there wouldn't be a photo session. The park actually walks the grounds with you AND you do select a specific spot to work. Yes, it's that serious.

Needless to say, the session was amazing! We had the best weather in an extremely beautiful park. Despite all the fuss, my parents put up, they actually enjoyed themselves. Then even mentioned doing another session in the future. Um, I'm not ready.

Take a look at a few of their photos. Anyone up for a road trip?
